How do international checkout and currency conversion work?
How do international checkout and currency conversion work?
The OnProfit checkout is designed for international sales, automatically adapting to the customer's location.
Automatic currency conversion
When accessing the checkout from outside Brazil, the OnProfit system detects the customer's geolocation and displays the price in US Dollars (USD), making it easier to understand and reducing friction during checkout.
The Producer receives the payout converted into Brazilian Real (BRL).
How does international checkout work for installment purchases on OnProfit?
When the checkout is loaded with a foreign country selected, the system does not allow installment payments. This happens because installments are an exclusive feature for credit cards issued in Brazil.
However, there is a simple workaround: the customer can change the country flag at the top of the checkout screen to "Brazil". By doing this, the system recognizes that the purchase is being made with a Brazilian card and automatically unlocks the installment options (provided the card has this feature enabled by its bank).

Step-by-step:
- At checkout, look at the flag icon at the top of the screen.
- Click and select the "Brazil" option.
- Enter a Brazilian credit card that supports installments.
- Choose the number of installments (according to the configurations available for the product).
- Complete the purchase.
This option ensures the customer has more payment flexibility, even if they are currently located in another country.

Language adaptation
In addition to the currency, the checkout language also adjusts automatically based on the user's country, making the buying experience clearer and more accessible.
This functionality is already live automatically, with no additional configuration required.
